The Sussex Downs project will build on recent course delivery and existing relationships with employers to deliver higher education training opportunities to employees and employers in the following areas:

• Public sector
• Professional services
• Care sector
• Utilities sector
• Teacher training
• Complementary health
• Sports development

Additionally, there will also be a focus on leadership and management training in all of the college's key sectors: care, retail, construction, hospitality and catering, sport and recreation, cultural and creative industries.

Sussex Downs College will trial a variety of new curriculum delivery models including:

• Foundation Degree modularisation and work place development which will build on the college's experience of delivering qualifications in the workplace
• Development of generic modules which can be delivered across all the foundation degrees

The project will also look to develop innovative flexible attendance models, and flexible blended learning approaches
