Sussex Learning Network

bringing higher education within reach

Main content starts

Biosciences

The main thrust of our Biosciences work has been in developing new opportunities for learning, progression and continuing professional development (CPD) in land-based and biosciences across Sussex. We aim to support a broad portfolio of developments from foundation degrees through to postgraduate CPD.

Our work in the area of CPD is designed to benefit many people already working in the sector who have not had the opportunity to gain initial higher education qualifications. It was also for those who want to update their skills and knowledge.

This portfolio is an ambitious undertaking given the wide scope of the biosciences themselves, and the diverse industries and jobs that they support. These range from medical research and pharmaceutics to wild-life conservation, agriculture and horticulture. We are therefore maintaining close contacts with local employers to ensure developments meet their needs.

You can see more details of our work in the Practioner Network Biosciences update.
